So my range after filling up was 345 miles for my 1.2 petrol vvti engine. On getting close to single figures on range & the needle near refill, I decided to fill the car fuel tank back up. But then it only took 35 litres of fuel, although the car factsheet on Toyota website claims to have a 50litre tank. Strange that the reserve could be 15litres, which seems a lot.

Any thoughts? Also does these models have a fuel warning light? Not noticed one on start up. Thanks

Toyota is quite conservative as regards fuel tank reserves.

The low fuel light should come on when the reserve is reached. If you look up 'warning lights' and 'low fuel light' in your owners manual, that will give the approx no of litres the reserve represents.

According to my Toyota owners manual for this model (touring sport).

On start up this light doesn't light up but it is there. Only certain system lights come on, then after their various checks  go out either automatically or engine running.
