Avensis 1.6D - Does This Look Right?

Hi, I've been having what seems a fairly common issue with warning lights and 'check parking brake system' message on my 2016 Avensis. My local garage, and local Toyota main dealer both reckoned it's an issue with air intake, and local garage has just changed a hose after doing a smoke test. It seems to drive better with no more loss of power (so far), but all the brake and engine management warning lights are back on again. However, I was just walking back to my car, and from a distance, i could see the underside, with what appears to be something hanging down. I'm one of the world's worst where knowledge of car mechanics is concerned, but even to me, this doesn't look right. does anyone know if this is a problem? I've had the car looked at extensively by two garages recently, so I'd be amazed if they missed a problem here, but it looks strange to me. Thanks.

It looks at first glance like part of the plastic undertray/underbody protection, not familiar with your model but I know earlier models can suffer from the front ones coming undone & scraping the ground, my own 2005 is currently held with beefy zip ties after it failed, can you not crawl under & see whether it is that, see if it has fixing points etc ?

It might be a problem if you drive and it catches a speedbump or similar, I suppose there's always the possibility that someone have neglected to reinstall it correctly after recent work ?

Thanks for your reply. I may just take it round to the garage to look at, but like the warning lights and 'check parking brake system' message, I might just put up with it, if it doesn't appear to be an issue.

Had the check parking brake numerous times almost always due to pads on verge of needing replaced or one of the pads stuck or piston seized in caliper. If discs are worn past limit this can also cause spurious warning messages. Best of luck.
