Has anybody traded up to the latest model and, if you have, is it quieter than the 2019+ car?

Thanks

Road noise I'm thinking about as opposed to engine noise.

I would say much the same. I had a 2020 2.0 TS previously and that was fairly quiet untill the tyres (Falkens) got down to 3mm then more noise noticable on certain road surfaces. My new Corolla Design 2.0TS is very quiet on the Falkins at the moment. There is no engine noise of note incidentally with the 2.0 engine.

i have poor hearing and don`t notice any difference to my 2020 2lr design, but the boss tells me there is an increase in road noise which i put down to the lower profile tyres.

On my 1.8 TS I would say engine noise is down and tyre noise is particularly sensitive to road surface finish. Longitudinal grooves cause a drone that can be felt as well as heard. On the other hand the indicator relay is now almost below the threshold of my aged hearing.

Thanks for the replies.

I've sort of raised this question before but it was wrt Avensis road noise against Corolla road noise (2017 2.0 Avensis diesel estate and a 2019 Corolla 1.2 turbo Icon Tech on my drive) because the Avensis has less road noise,  the Corolla has a much quieter engine though. I want to trade the Avensis but quiet is a big factor when I buy a car. According to Toyota models above Icon and Active have more soundproofing. Having test driven a newish Corolla I thought it had a lot of tyre roar but I'm not sure if I was listening for it which makes it much more noticeable.
