problems with media system, mud flaps and heater

I am utterly exasperated. I have a very detailed manal included with my new car (2023) but it is not the correct manual for my media system. I have asked repeatedly to be sent the correct manual (I have a 9" system) but apparently there isn't one - is this really the case? As a result I have no idea how to use the system effectively and usually have to stop the car to work stuff out - simply astonoshing. I have no idea how to turn the radio off ; I can mute it but I want it turned off when using ther satnav (as an example) and no-one can tell mehow to do this.

I have been wiating since Feb to get the mudflaps |I have already paid for. I am being told the earliest I will recieve them is "after Christmas". This is appalling . I have paid in full for the flaps.

Today I have tried and failed ot turn the heater off. The "air circulation" light remains on (this has been the case since I bought the car) but now I also get the symbol displaying air coming in through the vents at head height - and indeed the air does. I want to turn the heater off. How do i do that? The "off" button doesn't turm this off!!!

Bear in mind Toyota Owners Club is independent and has no connection with Toyota.

There are supply issues with some parts for some Toyota models - mud flaps being one - and the same is true for other manufacturers. Various factors are responsible - after effects of Covid, parts coming from Ukraine suppliers being affected due to the conflict there, etc, etc. See:

Often pressing the volume button toggles the audio system on and off.

Pressing the top Left “home” button (for 1 1/2 secs !!) will (temporarily) switch off the whole system.  It will come back on again next time you start the car.

You can mute the radio by tapping the loudspeaker symbol, bottom left on screen.  AFAIR the radio stays muted when you select ‘NAV’.

Problem with that link is that, sometimes, it takes you to the wrong media manual.  For example, using my VIN is brings up the 8” system whilst I have the 9” (because I speccd tech pack for my Excel).

Going purely on vehicle I get to …

https://www.toyota.co.uk/customer/manuals#/pdf/YPT61-EN

I chose the latest one (05/2023) which, even if incorrect, should suffice.  It’s certainly the 9” system

Don't search by VIN, manually select the car

YPT61-EN is the smart connect manual

Thanks for this but the heater issue is not the recirc button - although that is constamtly on - it is the fact that it also now shows the vents I wish to have the air coming too - I can't turn it off so cold air comes blasting through all the vents . Surely the heater display should all be blank when it is turned off with  nothing lit up.

I have already paid for the mudflaps (in February)

I have complained to Toyota and got nowhere . Cust serrvice us appalling in my view

Ah well

Off to find another dealer who mibht beable to help

I think you’d be better to set it to auto first, give it about 20 seconds to reset the air servos then turn it off.  You might never get it to fully turn off because some air will find its way in but when you do turn it off it’ll have a tendency to steam up.  Push the vent flaps all the way to the left to switch them off.

On my RAV4 PHEV there was (is) a 'wheel' that allows you to close the vents. As you drive - even with everything on the controls 'off' air still flows through the vents unless they are shut off by the 'wheel'.

However, on the YC there is no such wheel making it necessary to slide the vent lever to the side to close off the vents. This is annoying as when you wish air again, on opening the slide you need to fiddle about momentarily to select the correct direction. But that is a less expensive option to manufacture rather than the RAV system.
