A question about multi-information display - Yaris 2017

Hi Everyone,

I'm considering buying my first car—a 2017 Yaris Bi-Tone Hybrid—and have some questions about its multi-information display. I've noticed that while some models come with an analogue display, most hybrids have a digital one. I'm wondering if one is better than the other, or if it's mostly a matter of personal preference.

The specific car I'm looking at has an analogue display. Does this mean I'll miss out on certain features, such as speed limit warnings or other safety alerts? Additionally, would it be possible to switch from the analogue to the digital display in future? I really like the car, so I'm open to making this change if necessary.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I attached pictures to illustrate my point, displaying digital and analogue displays in Yaris hybrid 3rd gen - those pics are random from the internet and are not related to the model I am aiming to procure.

Best regards,

 Jon

I’m pretty sure 2017 Yaris came with the analogue (LH) display.

No, you will not lose out on any of the features you mention, in fact, I actually prefer that display to the display in my mk 4.

I have a 2016 Yaris Hybrid and it has the Analogue display.  I have driven a later model which has the digital display and can tell you that the digital display has many more features available which are selectable using steering wheel controls.  The analogue is a lot more basic and involves lots of button pressing on the display to change from trip to mpg to odometer for example.  It doesn't have safety alerts such as lane control but does have speed limit warnings if equipped with th optional SatNav. I would prefer the digital display which was introduced on later models.

Had a 2016 also, always prefer the speed digital display. The later gen 3 digital display is in the middle is a bonus, makes it easier to read.

But that year Yaris isn’t fitted with ‘lane control’ !!

Wasn't sure when lane control was introduced but you certainly wont get it or other safety features with the analogue display.

TSS was standard on the 2nd facelift, mid 2017 onwards

TSS

1. Pre-Collision System
When the risk of a collision
is detected, audio and
visual warnings and brake
assistance are activated.
If the driver fails to
respond in time, the brakes
automatically engage.

2. Lane Departure Alert
Detects lane markings in
the road ahead and alerts the
driver with audible and visual
warnings should the vehicle
start to deviate from its lane
without the turn indicator
being applied.

3. Automatic High Beam
Detects the lights of oncoming
vehicles and traffic ahead while
monitoring the brightness
of streetlights, to allow
automatic switching between
high and low beam for
safer nighttime driving.

4. Road Sign Assist
Monitors road signs ahead
and displays key information,
such as the current speed
limit, in clear view.

the easy way to tell them apart is the tailgate (boot)

2nd facelift has lights in the tailgate

Yes the 2nd facelift has the better dash it's a lot clearer and easier to read especially at night - the digital speedo is great as you can just glance at it to know your speed

Edit. Nearly forgot the 2nd facelift has a temperature gauge too rather than an "Its too late idiot light"

I retrofitted mine
