When I picked up my vehicle, I found the fuse box cover in the glove compartment. Even with the diagram opposite, I still can't find how to put it where it belongs!

Same here, it’s a small plastic cover approx 150mm x 25mm with fuse codes shown on the cover found in the glovebox.

Did you have a Dashcam fitted ? I’m guessing it was removed to enable the power supply to the Dashcam, if I can find where it fits I’ll post here.

Yes, they did fit a Dashcam, but must have forgot to put the cover back on.

I found the same cover in my glove compartment. It's for the fuse box under the dash, behind the glove compartment. It looks like the connector used for the Dashcam is too deep to allow the cover to fit over it. Bad design perhaps, but at least leaving the cover in the glove compartment allows people to to put it back on if they ever have the Dashcam removed.

Yes, this ^^^

The dealer-fit Dashcam uses a piggy-back fuse to supply it power, but this sticks up too high for the fusebox cover to fit over, so they just leave it off and either cable-tie it near the fuse box or stick it in the glovebox.

It's kinda lame, but there isn't really an alternative if using a piggyback fuse for tapping power.

I ran the wiring for mine into the back of the 12v socket, as I couldn't think of a cleaner way that didn't involve cutting into the fusebox cover, and I didn't like the idea of leaving the fuses uncovered so dust and crud would eventually get into all the unused sockets.

Fuse box cover modifcation.

If you careful use a blunt drill plus junior hacksore to cut hole out of fusebox lid when it fits over then remove it find a clear plastic top JIF, Epson ink or a soap measuring bowl cut it down to desired hight then hold in place with 3 drops of superglue then run a beading of clear window cealant around it.

The problem with that is you'd cut through the legend on the inside of the lid that tells you what all the fuses are; You'd have to very carefully unstick it first or take a picture of it and stick it in there for future use, depending on if it's glued in or moulded.

Thanks for that - this explains it nicely - it would have been good if the dealership had told me this in the first place!

Thanks for the suggestion Derek, but me and DIY do not go together - I would ***** it up! - I'll leave it thank you.

Thanks for that Cyker - I will go for the simple option - leave the cover in the glove box!

I rather distroy the info on the lid & have the lid in place you can always photograph the info or just print your own version & place a copy inside the lid & another in the handbook.
