Side Steps and Mudflaps ?

Hi All,

New to the Forum and spent a week reading posts and gaining a little knowledge.

I have a PHEV GR Sport on order for delivery Feb 2024 - very excited and a little anxious too !

First question i could do with help in answering is -

I have ordered factory fitted side steps.

Dealer parts guys say I cannot fit mudflaps (presumably the front ones?) along with them.

Anyone have both options ?

Also, I’m aware of the supply situation currently ref Toyota and their mudflap supplier.

Many thanks for any help 👍

The mud-flaps can easily be fitted without removing the wheels, so it may be better to do it yourself.

As far as the side steps are concerned, they will give some protection from car door damage in car parks but can be a pain for some people getting in and out of the car, as they don't help with access and can catch the back of your legs depending on the persons height.

The potential problem with side steps is when they are wet and muddy that is easily transferred to the drivers legs/trousers etc.

Thanks for your reply.

I think I will end up fitting the mudflaps myself, even if only the rear ones.

The side steps are more for looks plus roof access to roof box etc.

You’re right, that’s always the problem with side steps but the positives, to me, outweigh the negatives.

Cheers.
