Problem with starting car

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hello,

i am owner of Toyota Aygo 2006 automatic transsmision.

Firstly, my problem is occasional, maybe once in two weeks, once in month.

When i start engine and shift to the drive forward, the motor stops.

After that, the car dont want to crank. Do nothing, but controlls are on, so electricity is working.

If i go to the car after sometimes 3 hours, sometimes 24 hours, the car will crank on like nothing happened...

Do you know, where can be problem? What is wrong?

Thanks for your interest.

Best Regards

For me, a car not cranking now, but does start a few hours later, ..

I would check the starter first.

Just don't see why it occurs in a sequence of engine stalling and then no crank. So I think probably my guess is wrong.

Second idea : gearbox goes in alarm but no idea if that is frequent or possible in this aygo.

Any codes read yet ?

How old is your Battery ? Wen you start the engine and measure how mutch V te Battery go's it must not be under 10V if so replace the Battery (measure wen you crank the starter)

One thing you could try - just turn the key until all the dashboard lights are illuminated and pause for a few seconds before turning to start.

Hum this can get complex with the MMT, scan the car for codes, when you try to restart do you get a flashing N

what's the mileage and has it had a clutch in its life

Do you have anything on your car keys ?
