Does anyone know what the latest version of the built in maps are?  Mine are showing "12-23-05 (2022-09-5)", or reference i'm happy using Android Auto (Google Maps & Waze) but it would be nice to have the latest maps.

Also does anyone know what the latest updates are for the cars various modules?

the reason why i'm asking is that when it tries to update the maps it sys "Problem with map update, Please contact your dealer" and when i check the system update it says "Software update error, please try again later, error code: 101".

I've checked with the main dealer and they have said it's fully up to date as per the PDI, which is fine, however i wouldn't expect errors like this if the car was fully upto date, i would just expect it say something like "no update required" or "latest version installed".

From the quoted messages I presume that you have Toyota Smart Connect rather than Touch and Go 2 despite it being a 2021 model. If so, see Devon Aygo's explanation to my query elsewhere. If you have Touch and Go then you should be able to download the latest maps from the e-store to a USB and update the system from there.

Apologies I have a Corolla Hybrid Hatchback (Excel) 2023 not the one listed on my profile (need to update that).

It should be able to be updated via the car (OTA).

I have the exact same errors the with map update and the system update on my 2023.

It should indeed all update via OTA but it’s probably linked to the issues a lot of us have with the DCM & e-call not working/intermittently working.

You should have a map update available on toyota.co.uk if you sign in and go to the store purchase it (its free)

Download that update to a USB and follow the instructions which will then let you update it. That is the local version of the map that can be updated through that.

I have the MY22 but uses the same smart connect and was able to update it that way.

I'm a little sceptical as the infotainment system on the MY23 is completely different to previous systems.

Has anyone with a MY23 downloaded from the Toyota website?

Just been on the site and it doesn't look there's a manual download for the MY23 nav system so it must only be via the OTA method only

I spent ages downloading a map update, I was getting the same error message as you when I tried updating via the head unit.

When I plugged the USB stick into the car I got a message telling me that my maps were up to date...

When I try to open the e-store now I get this message "Please make sure your Sat Nav is registered before downloading or purchasing the latest software for your Toyota multimedia system." (my system is registered and working just fine with the MyToyota app) No downloads available.

I have an outstanding query with Toyota Multimedia support regarding this very point. The lack of information regarding the Smart Connect 2 leads to the assumption that something is not working. The "make sure your system is registered....." message implies that it isn't. Clicking on register my system just loops you back to where you started. Does anyone with a 2023 model have a base map version later than Feb 23 (i.e. the Autumn 2022 version.)? If so why is it not available to everyone?

I had my e-call problem fixed a couple of weeks ago and it seems to work every time now. I don't know what the dealer did, but according to my Dashcam it involved leaving the bonnet up for some time.

Perhaps I should stop worrying and just enjoy driving the car (which I do).
