Mk1 Avensis key/immobiliser problem

Good afternoon everyone..My first post so please be gentle..I have two original remote (transponder) keys for my '99 V reg liftback, one of which is missing a white button on the board inside key fob and won't work remotely, but will start the ignition...The other key has had new batteries fitted recently and works perfectly well when starting the car, but unfortunately, this 'good' key will not lock/unlock the doors-either by using the two buttons, or by inserting the key into the driver's door lock!...However, when the 'lock' button' on this key is pressed, the hazard lights come on twice, but the doors will not lock...The lock/unlock switch on the driver's door works fine, so the central locking is working as I am able to lock the doors from the inside-I have leave one door open when out and about shopping etc-touch wood no problems to speak of!!..I have searched through various postings on this forum and have tried a number of the Programming Sequences mentioned, but all to no avail..Is there anyone reading this able to point me in the right direction??..Does my key need reprogramming to the ECU?? Does the Immobiliser need reprogramming? OR do I need new lock and keys as neither key will open the locked driver's door! Any help would be extremely welcome.Thank you in advance, Rob.

There are a few options, but try this in the post I linked to.

Hope this helps.
