So I noticed a surface scratch on my '19 Corolla. Probably the result of my retirement since I've stopped taking grocery deliveries and now go to the supermarket every week. Anyway I thought I should touch it up so sent off for a colour matched paint using my reg number.

The paint delivered today was described as 'Emotional Red, Metallic'. It didn't look right to me - too scarlet and I didn't think my Corolla had metallic paint. But I tried a bit in a mostly out of sight place and it turns out to be correct. So I touched up the scratch and a couple more minor chips on the bonnet. Then being a sensible chap I decided to put the container on a small shelf by the car in the garage. It turned out there was already a small touch-up container there, unopened.

I assumed it was probably from my previous car - an orange Honda Jazz - but on inspection the label said "Toyota Emotional Red (Met)". Le sigh. I now have a vague recollection of getting some touch-up paint when I bought the car. I suppose that's why it's called "Emotional Red". I'm feeling a wasted £6.50 worth of emotion 😒

Glad I’m not the only one. Ordered an idle air control valve and then later found one on my extra parts shelf!
