Good result! I use E5 fuel and on my last trip I had 33.6mpg on the way out (no wind, 18-22c and slightly more downhill than up). Return into a slight headwind with 24C temp down to 27mpg. However I am towing slightly heavier (1550) and I keep cruise set at 62 (assuming 60 real world). I have found tyre pressures best at 35 however I also replaced factory Yokohama with Continental all season tyres.

Our caravan has been uprated to 1500kg in reality its nearer the 1450 kg mark, our set up is quite happy with the Yokohama no issues at all, over the last 3 weeks we have been running in HV mode 266 miles averaged around 50 mpg 23.93 litres.

I need winter tyres so fit all season as a compromise.

Admittedly off topic, but what has been your opinion on the AllSeasonContacts? You've had them on about a year now, right? So should have had a go in most conditions by now? Any thoughts on how quickly (or not) they're wearing?

@Oscarmax that's an excellent mpg return, especially considering we're talking petrol.

The fronts have been on just over 20,000 miles and about half worn. Allowing for safety margin pribably good for another 10k miles. The tears have been on about 14,000 miles and barely a third worn, if that. Very happy in all conditions albeit we didn’t have an abundance of snow last winter they perform well in ice/snow. I did note in the heat we had in June they were ever so slightly squirmy on the front suggesting they are a true winter biased blend. I have Goodyear Vectors on my rwd Merc and they too are good in snow however only had them on 5,000 miles so wear is minimal. They too are very good and quite happy with them, especially given the price at the time made them nearly half the cost of Michelins.
My economy is similar to Oscarmax too.

Filled up with E10 this morning 24.44 litres display quite accurate.

Towing I found HV the best mode for our set up, we are towing a 1500kg Swift Conqueror 480 due the weight of our caravan and speed we did not need to use the charge mode.

Towing using HV Sport mode noticed, in Sport mode it use both the ICE and Battery far better on the hills ICE unit seems much happier quiet and less strained, fuel consumption towing average 38.4mpg

Interesting comment. We will be towing from West Yorkshire to Inverness in just over a week so will try those settings.

Started off from CMC site with a depleted Battery 73 mile journey, we don't charge up away from home especially CMC sites @ £9.00 a charge, in Sport mode much better regeneration, so quite pleased I would imagine over a longer journey these figures less last year on a 180 miles towing we saw around 34.5mpg, looks like I will be staying with Sports mode just seems to tow better.

Like you I do not charge away from home. Tried that with my previous PHEV and the costs were ridiculous. Given I have a 400 mile journey ahead (split in two) and the second half takes in some long climbs on the A9 upto Inverness, I am not expecting great economy, 25-28 at a guess. I also drive to ‘get there’ so will be driving as fast as the law and conditions allow. We did the same journey 2 years ago however I cannot recall the mpg. Best I had was in Germany 2 years ago with 32mpg on a long run from Rudesheim to Tittisee in temperatures in the mid/high 30’s, closely followed by a run from home to near cleethorpes last summer. With a following wind and temperatures around 22C I got just over 30.

Our caravan is approximately 100kg less than you caravan, there is only just the two of us plus I set my speed to 55mph max. Definitely prefer the sports mode towing.

Towing back from the New Forest using Sports Mode and E10 Tesco Unleaded, this time  clean run no slight diversion 181 miles, cruise control set at 55mph, again stated off with a discharged Battery, sports mode seem to tow a little better than ECO with a slight gain in fuel consumption.
