The finished article...

YOU WILL NEED...

  • 1 x Mosiso 360 Laptop Sleeve - Amazon Link - about £15
  • 1 x set of 15mm popper studs/heavy duty snaps kit - Amazon Link - about £6 - (I got 'gunmetal' ones, the colour of the originals, but it doesn't matter, because they aren't visible)
  • Some black Velcro.
  • A sheet of A4 photocopy paper, to make the template for where the popper studs go.

TOOLS...

  • A hammer
  • A piece of flat wood to hammer onto (I used a small chopping board)
  • A craft knife
  • A paper clip
  • A flat bladed screwdriver

TIME - about 30-45 mins.

METHOD...

1. Press your A4 paper onto the 4 popper studs in the car. I've made a black dot in the centre of each circle (you can see 2 of them here)...

2. Offer up your 'glove box' into the position you want it - and measure where the top right popper stud will be on the bag. For me it was 9cm in from the right of the bag and 6.5cm down from the top.

3. Using the template as a guide, make 4 marks on the back of the bag (I used a gold paint pen). Here are 2 of the marks..

4. Punch holes in the back of the bag (where your 4 marks are)and fit popper studs, as per instructions on packaging (or YouTube video). Here's the first one (you can see the chopping board inside the bag, for hammering onto)...

5. I used a large paper clip to go through the lining of the bag and to help guide the popper stud pillar through the hole, from inside the bag...

6. Stick velcro onto the back of the bag, wherever you think it needs it (mine arrives tomorrow!). I'll post a pic once I've stuck it on.

7. Fit it - Job done!

It's not quite finished (velcro hasn't arrived yet), but I've done an upgrade. There was a sheet of black foam board lying around, so I've cut it to size and taped it inside the main pocket, against the back, to stiffen things up a bit - although it'd didn't really need it.
