Nice White LEDs at the front...

The foglight LED bulbs were delivered this afternoon, completing the set. Nice & white, £10 the pair and the car is happy with the lower voltage. Seems like IQs don't have canbus issues, unlike my motorhome - grrr.

Now all the front lights are 6000k white (except the turn signals, which I don't care about). Lovely. So much nicer than the horrible, pathetic, yellowish standard bulbs.(The fog lamps can now be used as 'poor man's DRLs'). I'll change the LED headlamp bulbs back for the next MOT if necessary, but they don't dazzle and they throw an accurate beam, as far as I can see (no pun intended).

Always in awe of anyone who can change a lightbulb - especially the fogs!

Looks nice.

( I did the headlight and back number plate ones. But some elude me! )

Nice. MOT will pass as it's has projector. I had HID for many years on projectors and passed no issue. Personally I would go yellow for fog light for obvious reason.

The front & rear bumpers are easy to remove - had the car a fortnight and had both of them off twice already. Removing the front bumper (5 or 6 plastic clips along the top and 7  x 10mm bolts along the bottom) makes changing the foglight bulbs a cinch. To protect the bumper I lay it on one of the wife's old yoga mats (which I also use to protect me, when lying on the ground!).

Why? Does yellow work better in the fog?

MOT/Projector - can you tell me more about why this will be a 'pass', please? It's not something I know about. Are you an MOT tester? Is it because the actual bulb can't be seen?

Any light source using projectors unit will pass MOT even if wasn't OEM. Led and Hid cannot be use on reflector unit. Not an MOT tester. Have used 4300k, 5000K & 6000K hid for headlights, found 5000K to be the best medium.

When it comes to rapid rain, fog or heavy snow 6000K is rubbish. My Yaris now have standard LED 6000K for headlights, I don't like it in the rain, much prefer a choice of temp light 4300k-5000k

Yellow for fog is the best as highlighted above.

I'll stay indoors in those conditions then 🙂
