tachograph/tachometer

Hi

owner of a 1994 coaster, i want to remove the tachograph as i have converted it to a motor home there only  appears to be only one connector plug do i just remove this or do i have to connect it to something else

Hi Anita,

I would give a call to a tachograph services company as I assume this was an original factory fitted unit. It's possible that the coaster could go in to limp mode if disconnected. They are probably best placed to advise on removel and should be able to advise you of any potentially issues you could encounter by removing this yourself.

Are vehicles with tachographs registered as such? - it may be wise to check that some legislation might exist to allow removal.
