Verso 58 reg Power steering leak

Leak on top metal pipe on power steering rack.  Tried a few Garages but apparently the pipe cannot be repaired or replaced . Toyota quote £2500 fitting of new rack.  Appreciate any advice    Not sure if I can get this done anywhere other than toyota   thx

I'm absolutely no expert, but nearly everything is repairable. If the pipes are like brake fluid pipes with a captive nut and bell end then you used to be able to get these made or just buy one about the right length and bend to suit. I'm talking about the days of my Mars bar Vauxhall Viva.

The problem may be access perhaps you have to remove a lot of things to get at it.

I looked here which shows a section of pipe / hose that has failed. That looks replaceable provided you can get something similar or get one made up.

You could try here to see if the correct thing is available, then find someone to fit it or DIY.
