my insurance company wont quote an import online, but i got a uk quote.. but want to have an idea how much the import TT manual will cost before going to have a look...

i can vouch for what martin is sayin...... imports are VERY expensive to ensure..... but tryin to find a uk supra is like looking for needle in a haystack...... i was after a uk supra for the past 3 months..... in the end got a bargain import, but the insurance basically made me pay the diff :( .... but heck..... it was brilliant to put a few scoooooby's back in their place today :D ..... and even my normally very cynical cousin was awestruck :o

As long as already sva approved, some companies aren't that bothered about it. My twin turbo cost me £50 extra to insure as an import through Tesco and my RX7 was an extra £85 through Hyperformance Insurance (cheap but crap customer service).

If you wait for a uk supra, you'll be waiting for a long time.

Everywhere i have been the imports cost approx 3 times the money to insure than uk spec cars. I know it differs between people with diffrent situations but i live in a very low crime area with no convictions at all to my name.

Its true they are rare but there is always at least one being sold on the auto trader.

I know some are around but I waited over 3 months for a uk one,got fed up and bought jap.

To decrease your premium, you can offer to pay a higher excess (voluntary excess) and/or do a limited mileage policy (anything up to 10,000 miles)

My policy is due for renewal in 2 months and have been shopping around, i'll be 25 when it needs renewing with 3 years no claims and 4 points.

Tesco were £787 and churchill were only £694 with a policy limited to 6,000 miles and an extra £300 excess. Less than half what I paid this year.

not bad for an import
