Hi team , I'm still looking for a Corolla Design model but I've noticed on the pictures on a few of these cars that the steering wheel buttons have the odd button in  black and the rest grey , most cars I've looked at look fine , does the button covering come off easily or do they go faulty and get replaced? Common issue ??

Hi,

likely what you have seen as colour difference to be from dirt and skin oil accumulation. Some steering wheels also got this ugly polished shiny look too. If there is a damage to the steering wheel on used examples best to stay away as it has become known these cars especially the TS versions are easily clocked , ex taxis and business use vehicles with high mileage that been clocked and returned to the lease companies, then sold on auctions.
Anyone buys a car todays, wait as long as you can as the market has started to stabilise and in the next two years the new car prices likely to go down a bit and new better deals with greater discounts will be available.
Used car market currently is flooded with bad examples, high prices and you get poor customer service pretty much from everywhere including main dealers.

It’s touring sport , aka estate version of the car.

it's just the way the light hits the buttons as they are on a compound curve and not flat also they are a satin black metallic

even toyotas own photos have this effect

Go and look at few cars in person, pictures make them look worse than they are that pic is blurry and not that high-res

Thanks for your reply, it's finding a car nearby thats the issue , hopefully one will turn up sooner or later. I just wondered if these buttons actually worn out and there was people on here that it had happened to to see if it was common or if it's just oil residue off people's fingers that car sales don't clean off before taking pictures
