My sister pointed out this loose cable tube that is visible upon opening the boot of the aygo. I lifted it out and noticed it houses a few cables inside, so maybe put it down to the fact it had been moved from when the rear Dashcam was installed in June.

From the photo and video, it doesn't seem to want to stay down when the boot is opened. There doesn't seem to be any water going into that opening luckily. Should this be normal? Or should I mention it to the dealer when she goes in for a service next May?

Oh no, this is not good and water will find its way inside from there. Best to get it fix asap. What can you do yourself is to spray little bit of silicone wd-40 or any other silicone base spray and squish the seal in place.
Good luck

Ah right, so best to mention to the main dealer then asap. Is it a potential another small fix that won't come under warranty?

They are a pita to put back in place, if it was forced it may have busted the lugs, you need to lube the rubber to squish is down, inspect the lugs first

I also have that issue, but it was caused when I had my rear Dashcam camera installed and the wire went through the rubber grommet.  When it was done, it snapped the clips and there's no longer a tight fit.  I used some double sided tape whilst I researched for that whole replacement part, which when I last looked, it wasn't available.  I even tried some online breakers, because some Aygo X cars are now showing up.

I may send Kingo (Parts King) a message to see if the part is available yet.

yeah I tried some stuff I found, but its not sticking. If anything its doing the opposite to what I want it to do. I'll clean the oil off and just stick it down really well with some tape.

It certainly will not be covered under warranty because you (we) have snapped the clips ourselves when installing the rear Dashcam.

If you do mention it to your dealer, let me know what they say and see if you can get a price for a replacement,  looks easy enough to fit ourselves.

My Aygo X lives in a cosy garage and is only exposed to the elements when I'm actually driving it.

Mine is parked on a driveway outside, so she is exposed to the weather conditions all the time. I suppose I'm lucky in that there hasn't been any water coming in so far despite the wet summer we had. I did look at collecting some silicone spray from my local screwfix, but I think I'll go to the dealer tomorrow and see if they'll look at it (its not an easy problem to explain over the phone) and get a price.

Excellent, let me know what they say.  That little loom is pretty short, as I remember when I had the head lining down a bit etc, I expect it not to be that expensive...famous last words😂

Your probably best buying new from main dealer cos a breakers will probably muller it getting it off, that my experience of breakers and delicate trim pieces. Reminds me of our 108 (Mk2) rear wash wipe plastic cover, that was loose when we bought the car and they replaced it, but inspecting the broken one, unless you knew exactly where the numerous clips etc. were locating it you could easily break them getting it off.

I agree, if you don't know where to poke your flat head screw driver in to push the clips in, it will definitely snap.

You're supposed to release it from the inside, but they usually get ripped out, parts fitter doing it and only get .10 to do the job

Hi all, finally got a call back from Mr T, the part order costs £80.30, but he said they'll have to check underneath as Flash mentioned above, so I'm booked in for a waiting appointment. Hopefully with the labour cost, it'll be about £100 max.

Are you going to ask them politely to poke your rear Dashcam wire through the rubber grommet BEFORE they fit it ?

Let us know how it goes and could you possibly get me the EXACT part number ?

yes I'll mention it, and I'll see if they have the part number on the invoice.

  • Thanks 1
