now here me out guys,

all corollas share the same wiring, albeit, parts are not installed for basic model.

NOW, my thinking is that

a) an alarm/control unit from a GS / SE model will fit into my S model

B) this would give me remote keyless entry

c) should be a straight plug - in job

now , has ANYONE got a remote central locking system on their car ?

also, does anyone know where the black-box is located in the car ? that controls these functions ?

dont let me down on this one, as Ill only end up finding out myself, and then posting my " 2nd lession for forum " post ! ( joke )

so SAVE YOURSELF from embarrasement, and be proud of your knowledge

this could potentially work yes as its the same scenario as in the yaris

i.e. base models have the full wiring loom but traces of 'unused' plugs and sockets all over the car, for example, fog lights, air con etc....

simple case is to get hold of the item i.e. the fogs and the necessary addition to the wiring loom and then just plug it all in??

worth a try as long as you get all the right bits and pieces. only thing i would be concerned about with remote central locking is if your car is a new style corolla?? in particualr one thats post 1999 as the ECU actually will control all things like remote locking.....

so it may not be setup to recieve the 'unlock/lock' frequancys from the transmitter??

yep will work but if you buy the kit the key will need programming to the control unit. if you buy from the breakers then would be a good idea to get the locks too then you will have the whole kit and it will match the key rather than use just the remote
