Trading Yaris Cross for a C-HR, maybe

Recommended Posts

Very tempted to trade my Yaris Cross GR Sport for a 2.0 C-HR Design.. (not the new one)

Theres nothing 'wrong' with the Yaris, but I do find the road noise and wind noise a bit wearing. I recently drove a C-HR and was very impressed with it - felt great to drive, very solid on the road and considerably quieter. It just felt like a higher end car - it actually reminded me a lot of my old Jaguar.

Are there any problems I should look out for with a C-HR?

Hi,

that is normal as the chr is class above the Yaris. There is nothing wrong with these cars if you happy with the design and rear doors windows set up.
I do like the look of Yaris more but the refinement and size of chr wins.
Larger is better  in cars as general rule.

Yes larger is better until you come to a car park as all bays are skinny cars have evolved and become wider car parks have not.

My Good Lady has a Yaris, and I have a C-HR. As much as I love the Yaris, I do find the C-HR better. I was so impressed with the C-HR, that I am now on my second one. My first was a 2.0 Dynamic, and the current one is a GR Sport. I have had many cars over the years, with the C-HR being the only model I have owned twice.

I have noticed with the C-HR, is that the 1.8 is a bit underpowered for me, but as you are considering a 2.0, this shouldn't be a problem for you.

Look out for a rattle from the dash, which comes from the driver side front speaker grill. I had this on my first C-HR, and it has been raised a few times on the forum too. Luckily, my Dealer was brilliant and fixed it FOC.

As a freshly new owner of C-HR,i can highly recommend this car.  The biggest diferences from yaris cross are road and engine noise.

C-HR is way better imo.

Many thanks everyone,

My local dealer has given me a 2.0 Design to try - and it's pretty much made my mind up (within about 2 miles!) It's just a more enjoyable, smooth drive. Feels plenty quick for overtaking, but I happily glided home at around 50mph (must be getting old)

We bought a CHR when they first came out and decided to change our car this year, we fancied a change so ended up ordering a new Yaris Cross, however after several more test drives and comparing the quality between the CHR and the Yarris Cross, we cancelled our order and bought another CHR. We are positive, for us, we made the right decision.

As l think most of you know I ordered a YC and then decided it was not for me and after a struggle got my deposit back, I have now bought a 10 yr old Rav 4diesel invincible, which means I have owned all 4 marks !! Don't suppose I will ever afford a mk 5 but you never know😃

Yeah, looks good - I had a choice of white, black or the blue. Looked decent in white but just didn't fancy it due trying to keep it looking clean.

I hadn't considered a C-HR until I had one as a courtesy car, and was seriously impressed with it.

There was a Rav 4 GR Sport sat in the showroom - it looked good! Bit more than what I need though

I can understand your logic. When my dad was in the market for something Toyota with a raised ride height he was keen on the Yaris Cross. We test drove the YC, the 1.8 & 2.0 CHR. The Yaris was fun to drive and much more frugal than any iteration of CHR, however interior materials are much lesser in the YC, and road noise is more present. As he does a few longer trips a year amongst the town driving, he went for the 2.0 CHR. only downside is the boot is much smaller than the YC (2.0 has 12v Battery under the boot floor) so struggles a bit with luggage space on touring trips.

There is just something about the C-HR. It's good on fuel, fun and easy to drive, and does get some interesting looks. Overall, I have slowed down since owning my first C-HR. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I think it's because it is such a nice car to drive.

Well I finally received my C-HR after a long wait. Not sure what happened, but the  2 weeks ended up being 10 weeks!

I got a good price reduction as an apology and the Yaris Cross now had some equity in it, so my monthly payments have reduced significantly.

I've been driving the C-HR for a couple of days (Nebula Blue, 2.0 Design model) and I'm loving it. It's so smooth to drive - considerably quieter than the Cross. Seats are lovely, the stereo sounds good, and it's very good when it comes to overtaking something. The only thing I miss about the Cross was the Gr Sport steering wheel - the C-HR Design one is a bit skinny for my liking.

The only mod I've added is a tray for the armrest storage - can't keep losing an arm down that bottomless pit

I had a CHR in Spain when they first came out and it was amazing, unfortunately got stolen after just two months and when my insurance paid out I got a RV4. 5 years on and now back in the Uk I have just bought another CHR (design) the car is so so good and I would highly recommend it. Practical and sturdy, and the upgrades are great such as Apple car play, also I notice it doesn't rev as much as the first models. I cant speak to a Yaris as never owned one but always driven Toyota, nice to be in the most reliable driving option always.
