Problem with Android auto.

Hello to everyone.

I just bought a used Toyota Yaris from Japan. The car is 2020 model

I have a Xiaomi 12 model mobile phone. I cannot connect to my Yaris.  I managed to connect it easily to my other cars but not with the Yaris.

I tried several cables, I tried a GEN 2 3.1 10gbps cable. It connected for two seconds and that's all.

For now on it cannot detect my phone.

I tried to connect different phones. I connected them easily with the android auto but after 10 minutes approximately the phones are disconnected and I have to connect them again.

Andreas the 2020 model is a clue.  The MY19 Corolla was not enabled for Android Auto.  This was a simple, paid for,  upgrade in mid 2020 to enable AA.

I suspect your car may have the same issue.  I suggest you discuss this with a dealer.

However it is possibly your phone might be incompatible.  A trip to the dealer should resolve that too.

As it is a Japanese Domestic Market vehicle imported from Japan, it will probably have a different multimedia unit to European models, and the retrofit Android Auto upgrade won't apply.

Frosty a UK update may be.  I wonder in Japanese cars of the sane vintage had similar AA issues.

I am from Cyprus. So unfortunately i contacted the official Toyota dealer and they inform me that they do not support japanese import cars.
