Front passenger power window stuck in down position

My 2002 RAV4 Diesel suddenly had a window failure whist I was trying to close it this morning from drivers main console. It suddenly lowered whilst pressing the button to raise both it and the driver's window together (have done this many times before). It now is stuck open and will not operate either from the door button or the driver's button. I have tested the wiring to the switch in the passenger door and get lights on my tester. Am reading weird and wonderful posts about Toyotas needing resets to make power windows work after Battery disconnection; although the car was not running as I had just parked the Battery was not disconnected in this scenario, but has made me wonder if something like this may be going on. Any ideas?

Thanks

Could be a faulty window motor. a switch or a blown fuse etc. The reset procedure described is the most common cause for auto windows not working in Toyota RAV4 is when the 12 volt Battery has been replaced or disconnected. The power windows still function, but you have to manually hold the switch to fully close or open the windows. In this case, performing a reset procedure should restore the auto functionality.

It's not beyond possibility that an electrical anomaly occurred but more likely one of the issues first mentioned above.👍Check all with a meter.

try it with the car running check the fuse for the window i doubt it tho

try operating the window with the passenger open and close, give the rubber boot between the door and car a wiggle

power to the window controls usually turns off after 30-40 sec after removing the ignition key

I had a stuck window on my Corolla  or Yaris.  It defied me yet took the mechanic about 20 seconds to fix.

Try trawling through the online handbook, if such exists.  You may find an answer.

It was no fault just knowing what to do.
