Faulty or inoperative AC

Having recently joined the IQ members club I followed many threads about the dreaded B1479 AC display and organised a genuine Denso AC pressure Switch from Emporium Carparts @ £23.90 plus a Flow Sensor Repair Kit also off eBay @ £13.95 and liaised with my good friends at ITS Autos Bletchley and a few hours later all is well without the need for any further attention. Should your AC fail do not be fooled by the diagnosis that you need a new Air Compressor at £800 + fitting. If any IQ member is in the Home Counties I can recommend a few places to help ID the problem 😁

Its also worth noting a well placed magnet while monitoring the flow sensor voltage using Techstream (need to be 4V) will also do the trick. I glued one to my sensor and it now works like a treat.

Hi, I am also struggling to get my AC to work. Its regassed was a little low in pressure, I have checked all fuses in the fuse box in the cabin + the 2 in the engine bay with a multimeter for continuity, swapped all the relay's around and placed a magnet on the flow sensor to no avail.

But in techstream I get the error that the Air condition is not responding, does anybody have information on if there is a control module I can check and where it is located in the car. Its a 2009 manuel 1.0 with manuel AC. Or if I am missing to check a fuse or relay somewhere else?

The climate control unit it located in the cabin under the hvac system behind the cigarette lighter. You need to dismantle the lower section of the center console and gear leaver covers to get to it.

I would personally pull and check every fuse for open circuit and replace if so in the event i didnt know what was what.

Also the magnet needs to fit in the slot where the flow sensor is located (top ish middle of ac compressor), and be a very pewerful magnet (neodymium).

the correct name is A/C amplifier

@smeller run a full health check and see what codes you have stored, go back and check the correct fuses HTR B 40a and HTR-ig 10a, I take it the blower motor works fine ?

Okay I just changed the 2 fuses and it made no difference and the blower motor works fine. With service manual I will dig deeper

did you run a full health check in Techstream  ?

next up is to check your powers and grounds at the A/C amplifier
