Stop/Start function

I have a petrol Yaris that is fitted with the stop/start function. This can be turned off  by the override switch but it has to be done each time you start the car. Is there a way to override this function permanently? Disconnecting the switch does not work.

The stop/start function helps keep the emissions low, and is probably why you cannot disable it.

There are (were*) third party devices around that simulate pressing the switch each time the car is started. The switch can then still be used to turn it back on and off thereafter. They will require wiring in, and thus access to the relevant wiring, so it's usually not a simple job.

I thought about one for SWMBO's car *a few years ago but she just got in the habit of pushing the button as part of her starting routine, so I didn't bother. I haven't searched recently, so you'll have to think of some words to put in your search engine.
