Insurance costs have risen by up to 40% this year, it sounds like its taxed on the old pre 2001 rate, and not emissions, being that's the way it is taxed it makes it non Ulez compliant too

To get the emissions certified, they have to be done to the letter of the DVLA regulations (WLTP iirc) this can be costly and long-winded you can see if there is a model report available ***** per 1C 8.3

I bought a Japanese import 2010 Toyota Estima 2.4L petrol model in Oct 2023 & had EXTORTIONATE quotes for insurance from various companies.

One company wanted about £859 but when I mentioned my NCB was still ACTIVE on my Rav4 which I still have at the moment they wanted £2,400.......

Anyway I went for these guys below & it cost me £482 & said when I sell my Rav I can transfer the NCB over to my new policy & I might even get it a bit cheaper.

They are a broker, but the insurance company is KGM & they are NOT on any comparison sites.

Always best to phone them direct in my book......in fact I had a great chat about the in's & out's of insurance with a VERY helpful lady from lifesure

So which company did the broker actually place you with?

I am with NFU mutual, also not on comparison sites but much lower than other companies with extra benefits.

Are you happy with NFU mutual as it might be one to look at next year.

I was sorta rushed with finding insurance as I needed it to start straight away as I was picking my Estima up the next day

My car is insured with KGM

I have a 2010 Estima Hybrid. I have insurance through Admiral for £377/year. I pay £325 for 12 months road tax. My car has fallen into the 'Private/Light Goods' category (tax class 11). I live in a quiet corner of Somerset, which probably helps my insurance.

Yes happy with them, interest free monthly payments, uk breakdown cover included at no additional cost.

Similar price to me but I am in the rough SE London. 🤭
