Corolla 1.6 E11 gearbox problem

My 1.6 manual petrol 2001 E11 5 door fastback has just been out of action with the thrust bearing gone on drivers side transmission & was told no parts are available including failed thrust bearing. & was wondering if anyone knows of second hand low mileage gearbox or any company that has reconditioned one’s? 0r even any parts being remade again?

I'm guessing your car has the C150 gearbox. This is a very common box and there should be secondhand ones available. A good gearbox specialist should be able to help you. You can also check with Paul at Woodsport if you know exactly the part and part no that you require. He does many engine swaps in MR2's and other Toyotas and is incredibly knowledgeable.

Many thanks for info. Had the car since 2006 & has grown on me. Totally solid, will not give up on it.
