Is it possible to change the headlamp units from a 2018 c-HR to the newer LED units from the following years?

All Toyota cars with standard halogen bulbs of these types that uses the reflector to change light pattern are horrible at night and it’s not the bulb an issue but the head units themselves. No point really of upgrading to led or anything. Just buy next trim level car next time and enjoy better headlights as standard. Chr top trims has rear good led lights along with Yaris x, Corolla etc.

The law was changed on 01 Jan 2021, and MoT testers were advised:   “Existing halogen lamps should not be converted to High Intensity Discharge (HID) or Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs.  If such a conversion has been done, then you must fail the MoT”.

I don’t know how things would stand if the whole headlamp unit was changed.  I cannot see why a proper upgrade should not be legal.
