Yaris DRL fix

Hi folks, the in-laws Yaris has the top part of it's DRL not working.

From Googling it seems the solution is to replace the entire headlight?? 

Surely that's not right?

Anyone had and resolved this issue before?

From what I recall it IS a question of replacing the headlight unit. There was a thread on here a while ago with some further explorations and alternative fixes.

In short, it's a replacement headlight, and they are not cheap brand new

or pull the headlights apart and sort out the leds

How easy is replacing the headlight unit?

Few bolts or is it a bumper off job?

It's a bumper off job 2 bolts at the top and 1 to the arch/ lower side for the headlight
