2016 Auris Infotainment screen differences

My wife has a 2016 Auris 1.4 D4D business edition, my uncle has the same car but his infotainment screen has a more modern look with 

square window style icons. Is it possible to update ours??

You can also update the software of your Toyota Touch 2 system following a similar process. You will not, however, require a 16-digit activation code for software updates. View available updates in the ‘Software Updates’ section of the MyToyota e-Store.

So check if there is any infotainment updates there.

Upgrades are done via usb.

It's still the touch 2 they went from buttons to a glass touch screen, not up on the Auris touch 2 versions, but there are High and Low versions

IIRC the issue swapping between the 2 is the reverse camera the early one uses 12v reverse signal and the newer ones use Can Bus some minor rewiring is also required

I don't think it's worth it over some fancy icons and sharp edges.

I mean if you were to upgrade to some 3rd party android, where you can install anything you want, but still keep most of the car functionality, then that's another story.

Both are the later face lift systems with touch instead of physical buttons. Some have square window like icons and some have a more dated looking interface, not talking about the pre facelift system which had physical buttons

Its a difference in software see HERE if you have a software version starting 4.#.# then you have MM13 software if it starts 6.#.# then its MM16 if you have a the latest maps/software installed ( latest being 6.22.0#) then you will get the later interface

I have version 6.xxx and the new layout is better. However the auto preference route (fast/short/ecological) not working anymore. I have to always clicked my choice
