IQ 2 just stopped

Hi everyone, i own IQ2 2009, it was working fine, but suddenly today an alert was on the dash, A key Alert. But it started normally. Next stop, car won`t start, it gives the impression that the car Battery is dead, however when the roadside staff came, they said that the car Battery is 100% good. When pushing the Start/Stop button, it seems to struggle to start. Now it is making a Trickle Noise. Any info please?

Have you tried holding the keyfob very close to the start button and trying to start the car?

That's what you do when the keyfob's Battery is low.

yes did so, but nothing.

It sounds like you might need a new Battery in the key fob? That's where I would start.

Check ground connection on the car maybe one is loose/rusted ? start with that, if happened to me with an Auris it was loose but also check if they are rusted maybe the contact is not good

Also change the Battery on the key fobs

As others have noted, batteries do let you down, if not the tiddly iQ 12v, then the remote keys.  Try the 2nd set if you have them… is the result the same?   If things have become damp under the bonnet (not surprising in the current weather) there may be a short to ground preventing the starter kicking in - let things dry out and try again.

Could you develop '...it struggles to start'?

Did they actually tested the Battery or just measured the voltage?

Perhaps we will never know...?

An update would be appreciated though. It might help someone else with the 'same' issue?

Battery/batteries issue, terminal corrosion, alternator, something else? Fixed now?

Always the same problem with "rude" people. They write: Help!!!!!Help!!!! please save me, my car has broken down.

Some good persons try to help them, with their own experience. Usely it's work's and after  no news , no commentary, no thanks.
