Hi, I inherited a 2008 Toyota Aygo and I'm trying to understand how the control unit works in relation to the engine etc.
I saw a cool video in which CANbus signals can be decrypted using an Arduino and so I took this path, but I don't know what frequency the vehicle uses to interact (125khz)?

Good luck decoding the can bus i have done this many a time, using an Arduino and a can transceiver using Putty

IIrc it was a MPC2515 @ 500 Kbps - plenty of info on the likes of sparkfun and github

Wheel speed comes from the abs and a secondary from the gearbox*

A simpler solution is to use the VSS it's its own PWM square wave

just an example of a filtered can bus dump <30 seconds, it can hit 2000 messages a minute try looking for some PIDs to ID the hex message - this is why the speedo uses a VSS signal aka SPD in the Toyota world
