AYGO 2010. Not sure if anyone has got to the bottom of getting rid of moisture / water in the headlight, without replacing the unit, but seems to be quite a common issue?

I have tried using a hairdryer on the exterior surface of the headlight, which works but is temporary as the moisture comes back.

Others seem to say there should be air vents on the headlight unit, which may be blocked, causing the issue. Others though say there aren’t any vents. I have seen no photos online of the vents when discussed in forums, so is there a definitive answer?

Thanks in advance.

The easiest way to get rid of the moisture in the headlight, is to park the car so the headlight faces the sun, then remove the rubber grommets around the headlight bulb. In a an hour or two, the moisture should be evaporated by the sun.

Anyway, the excessive amount of moisture usually suggest there is a crack on the headlight housing or missing rubber grommet around the headlight bulb, allowing water to enter the headlight easily.  So rather than focusing on removing the water, you should investigate on why is water entering the headlight in the first place.

Cured this recently. Remove headlamp, clean edges and reseal all the way round with silicon. I drilled a tiny hole into the bottom edge as I couldn't get all the condensation out after drying with a hot air gun (on low).  We suspect the light/bumper had been hit as the bumper was knocked out of place and the moisture issue started after this.
