the engine shakes and tries not to go out while on idle

Hello,

I've recently bought a Rav4 2019 2.5l Hybrid 2WD. Unfortunately it has a problem when the car is on idle and the gas engine is running if I turn on the turn signals the engine starts shaking and revving and it is like it's trying not to go off. When I turn off the turn signals it calms down. Has anyone seen such a problem?

Are you trying to rev the car when in park or neutral ? If so it will kill all throttle input to protect its self, the only time the engine will start is when it needs to charge the hybrid Battery, put it in drive the car will pull away in electric mode then the engine will start as required

is this your first hybrid ? if so it is a very different driving style, and it will take time to adapt

No I am not using the throttle. The shaking starts even on Park. If the car is on idle and the gas engine is turned on if I turn on the turn signals it starts shaking the engine and revving itself like it has not enough power.

I think best to record a video and share with us.
This could be a typical behaviour in certain conditions but why  does it happen after you turn the signals on is beyond me.

It seems very odd, only thing I can suggest is scan the car for codes and check the Battery terminals, get the 12v Battery tested

another check is the connectors on the headlights, the car may have been stolen/recovered or attempted to be stolen

turning on the indicators and the car running poorly would indicate a ground issue, does it do it when indicating left, right or both, does it also do it if you turn the hazard lights on ?

I bought the car from the local dealer of Toyota in my country and I will go to them to check the problem on Monday. The problem is happening when indicating left, right or both and if I turn the hazard lights on. I think the gas engine is not super stable even with all lights off but it doesn't shake or rattle. The shaking happens immediately when I turn the hazard lights and when I turn them off it calms down. The car is 50k miles.

Best to bring your car to Toyota to check for fault codes.
