New Rav4 owner needs some Help. Thanks.

Hello. I am located in Canada. I just purchased a brand new 2023 Rav4 XLE, All wheel Drive. I have a few issues. Maybe someone can chime in here.

1. There is a SCAN feature available when listening to AM/FM radio. There is NO SCAN feature when listening to SIRIUS/XM satellite radio. How do find the SCAN feature? Is a SCAN feature available?

2. The radio only comes with a maximum of 20 spots to program favorite pre-set channels. You can only program a maximum of 20 favorite channels to use as favorite pre-sets. Can you increase the amount of favorite pre-set channels?

4. Is it possible to DISABLE the seat belt warning? It DOES NOT STOP when you put the car in drive with out wearing your seat belt. When driving without the seat belt fastened, the warning sound sound is UNBEARABLE.

3. The (American-U.S.A.) version of the Rav4 XLE comes with a tire pressure sensor you are able to view in the dashboard. My Canadian  Rav4 does not have the TPWS Tire pressure sensor. Why?

4. The (American-U.S.A.) version of the Rav4 XLE comes with a setting on the light switch to disable the daytime running lights, the Canadian version does not com with that setting. Why?

Hi Brace, yes Ernie's right different countries have different specifications and regulations, especially in relation to safety features.

So hard to comment or give advice 👍

• European cars and North American cars have completely different media systems. SIRIUS/XM satellite radio isn't available over here. But, the availability of a SCAN function will be a feature of the tuner, and if it's not available, it's not available.
• The number of presets will be a feature of the media system. There won't be any way of increasing the number without replacing the media system.
• Seat belt warning sounds are a feature of most modern cars. The solution is to do the seat belt up. Whether you put the belt around you or sit on top of it is up to you.
• The availability of tyre pressure readouts on the dash seems to be a bit of a lottery and is available on only a limited range of grades. It may become more ubiquitous in the future.
• The availability of a control to disable DRLs is likely to vary with homologation requirements in the relevant geography. It's not available in Europe as DRLs must be on.
