Remove crankshaft without taking head off (5efe)

See title.

might have to get my crankshaft machined and measured. 

is it possible to take the crankshaft out  (5efe)without having to take the head (4efte) off

Yes, but not advisable, the bores, rings and pistons should be inspected as well as the main caps, also the rods should be checked and sized there are way too many variables, get the clearances on the shells wrong you could scrap the crank very quickly - not all shells are manufactured the same

depending on how bad the crank is, it could have bent valves or wore the bore

Tosh, myself any every other technician I've ever known have never stripped a top half because of a worn crankshaft.

So you know the cause of failure, op has a modified engine going from the info given, 5E with a 4E Turbo head, more than likely running a tad more boost than standard on stock internals

Edit. going by OP's other posts the engine had bad blow by so it's had new rings and pistons, so it depends on what rods and pistons are in the block now
