If you go down the road of having it refernished lets say new blade pack fitted voltages all equalized as part of the High voltage service & then 2 or 3 month down the line another blade pack fails then after repair you not that far short of forking out for a complete new Battery pack in the first place.

I'm sure things are improving, but with more EVs on the roads there will still be competition for chargers on occasions. When that happens you can be basically stuck for hours.

Again i disagree i took this from fleet magazine "There are currently over 40,000 public EV charge points in the UK, serving around 2% of vehicles on the road" so as it states 98% of EV drivers are not charging on public chargers which also backs up my earlier statement that i have never seen two cars on any of the chargers where i live, companies are installing chargers and will continue to do so i cannot see why all these EV owners are suddenly going  to get stuck for hours.

That reads to me as 2% of vehicles on the road, not 2% of EVs.

But you are still taking broad statistics and assuming they apply all the time to everyone. Many of these chargers are clustered along major routes, so there are 'deserts' in places. For longer journeys you have to plan for where you will charge, often with a plan B for when the chargers you hoped for aren't available. It can be like flight planning with possible diversions and having enough fuel to reach them.

I agree that on paper it all (is made to) sound glorious but from 18 months experience, both in the real and on an EV forum, it's really not that great.

If you can charge at home and never go beyond (half) your car's range from there then an EV may be a great solution for you. But when someone who is not especially organised and tech savvy wants to go further afield it can become difficult. Personally I can manage that, but my other half certainly couldn't.
