Yaris 2012 engine oil

Hi.

In the manual it says 5w30 grade of engine oil for my 1 litre petrol Yaris 2012.

 

 

My question is what exact spec of 5w30 engine oil is needed please or will any 5w30 oil do please?

Getting conflicting information.

Hi, 

your engine oil type likely is 0w20 A5 GF-5 spec. If you use 5w30 spec needs to meet A5 standards. The 0w20 is fully synthetic oil where most 5w30 are semi-synthetic oils. The C specs for engine oil matters mostly for cars with more advanced exhaust emissions systems and it is important to be exact match where in your Toyota you can use older spec oils as well as the new ones.
