Help fixing the indicator stalk that acts weird

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Im an owner of AB10 Aygo, i had my indicator stalk doing weird things like making the relay sound like a its going on and off million times a second, like automatic weapon. Also at times it wont go on when turning right, recently it started up doing that same for both directions.

I found videos on youtube where the copper pads were cleaned so theres no longer black line where the contacts touch. It worked for mine too, no more weird acting like that. But, instead the indicator turns the hazard lights on and off no matter which way i indicate. Also suddenly high beams are my only light i get forward, rest works normally. That makes me think its the slide in the stalk that i didnt put back correctly, ive tried to open it a few more times and checked but theres seemingly only one position for the slider. Something else might of moved within the stalk to make that happen.

Should the stalk work on its own just hanging off the only connected cable that comes to it, or is it working together with other components.

Good thing here is that the hazard lights come on where the blinker should be, no more flickering or relay noises.

Some say its a bad ground somewhere. Some say relay is bad also.
