I opened the garage this morning and was shocked to find I had left the drivers door open all night, I must have got distracted when I unloaded the boot. I wondered if that might have drained the 12v Battery but the car started as normal so it doesn't seemed to have caused a problem.

The interior light times out luckily

I wonder if it was part of the design to time out just in case this situation of leaving the door open happened. :rolleyes1:

The boot light on my Yaris stays on with the hatch open.

I wish there was a switch on it,as on hot summer 🌞 days (where did they go) I like to leave it open, to air out the interior, and stop too much heat build up.

Yep, Bob, I have that open too.

Mind you,as I've said before, it can be a bit rough round here.

I have previously had someone spitting a mouthful of ice cream on the roof of my previous car, disgusting I know.

Also lumps of moss and debris being thrown all over my car from jet washing, among other things.

So I do have to be a bit careful which things I leave open, the rear hatch is within my sight line most of the time.

Blimey Paul, and I thought London was bad. In 2017 Lincolnshire was voted the fourth safest place to live in England and Wales according to crime figures.

I’m not 100% sure Paul, but I think it goes out after a period of time also.

Well Bob, statistics can say anything really, that bears no relation to the reality.

I never had a hint of any trouble while working in London, and living near there.

And as always, it depends on which bit of town you are in of course, and even if you check out an area thoroughly before moving there, things can change very rapidly.

I remember a news report a few years ago, that mentioned an article in a 90s "ladsmag" whatever one of those is.

It said that Lincoln is the place that you are most likely to meet a nutter in the UK.

I can well believe it.😕

Ah thanks Bernard, I will leave it open a longer time when we get the balmy climes back next year , and see.

The overhead light, like most, has a three position switch,on ,off, and on when door open.

Well I’m not saying it’s rough where I live but there’s a house near me where vandals broke in to decorate…

My boot light goes out same as the interior lights but I have it disconnected just to save some Battery juce.

I also tried the new app Notifcations settings DOORS Open/ Doors Ulocked it failed to work in the 30 minutes that I tested them under just hoping this will be one of the fixes in progress for 2020 Yaris hybrids cars.

They were lucky,up the road from here is a three legged pit bull that deals crack from the back of a derelict transit van that is up on stolen bricks.

All interior lights will time off eventually after some time, I think it’s an hour or so but meanwhile they will heat up indeed and draw some energy from the Battery. When come back to the car with open door left , and you close it the light will turn on and then off by itself to make ready for your next use of the doors. Not a problem to forget once in a while but if you do that repeatedly you may risk flat Battery
