2007 Auris D4D charging problem...

Hi.

My Auris is chargring 13,9 Volt, and everything seems to be working like it should...

Except: For about one year the:

-"Battery warning light" on the dashboard has been on

-"Diesel filter warning light" on the dashboard has been on

-"Check Battery warning" on the dashboard.

Any idea what could be the problem?

I have just bought the car. The last owner said the 3 warning lights came when he changed the Battery (about one year ago), and they have been there since...

Thanks for any input and help!

Try disconnecting Battery for 10 mins and reconnecting.

Diesel filter light, could actually be due to water collecting in filter. Change fuel filter or at least get it drained. When was it last changed?

Check fuel filter sensor wiring has a good connection and is not disconnected.

Battery current draw sensor is attached to positive terminal. Ensure Battery post/clamp/sensor have good contact and no wires have been damaged/disconnected

Also check alternator wiring connector.

Some cars like Bmw need new battery to be registered on ecu, as it tallys charge going in/out of battery and may be confused after battery swap. The ecu also assumes charge capacity to deteriorate with time. I think this engine is a bmw unit. Ask a garage if it needs a battery reset.

13.9 seems a little on the low side, would exoect 14.4 whilst revving.

Ps take whatever the previous owner says with a pich of salt.

Could be that he hooked the Battery wrong way around, and caused random issues.
