I've started using my wife's Corolla 1.2 Icon tech a lot more and it has the most annoying rattle coming from the passenger rear. I've done the usual checks (parcel shelf, seat belts on plastic, seat belt mounting point etc.) but I cannot find it. It only happens on rough, undulating roads.

Anybody experienced this?

Thanks

Seats lock perhaps if the seats were not properly clipped in.

No mate, all the standard stuff has been checked and re-checked.

Thanks for the reply,  I'll have a look when it's not raining. Unfortunately it rattles with seats up, seats down, big lump (me) sat on the seat, parcel shelf removed. The car has been in the garage once and they haven't managed to fix it, though I'm not too sure how much effort they put in. The rattle,  or 'cracking' seems to come from behind the plastic trim. I'll have an investigate,  thanks again

All interior plastics trims are clipped with white clips and it’s possible for some reason if the clips were not clipped in place correctly, used non original clips or something similar has happened it is normal the plastics to get rattling in certain conditions. It is indeed annoying, I have all usual Toyota rattling, squeaking, clicking and all other typical noises and I found a great solution, just learned not to pay attention to them as many comes and goes away for no apparent reason., sometimes just with the temperature amplitude.

Turning the music up? Hell yes....

Haven't noticed a driver seatbelt rattle. I did get annoyed by the passenger buckle rattling against the pillar, sorted by sticking some packing foam on the pillar.

I've buckled up the belt, still rattles.

To be honest Gents I object to paying £16k for a car to listen to annoying rattles. My previous 3 Toyotas weren't as bad. The I10 I part ex'd to get the Toyota didn't have any 'I want to set the car on fire' annoying rattles.

Yes, I have the seat belt mechanism pillar rattle. Im tall and my seating position means I'm sitting with my ear very close to it. I've found on mine it's down to the angle of the mechanism and playing around with seating position/backrest and the mechanisms height adjuster I can get rid of rattle and still be comfortable,. My previous 2 Auris TS I feel were better put together, no rattles anywhere.

I did report it to dealer but their mechanic with a different seating position couldn't hear anything.

Yes. It responds well to a gentle tap.

CEA.  My Corollo Verso also has the 'annoying' passenger buckle rattling against the pillar.
