Been having issues with the tailgate not fully opening recently. Can get it open by pulling but it is not doing it automatically. Anyone have any ideas before I go back to Toyota dealer?

Thank you!

I was messing with a tailgate problem a few months ago on a 2019.

It is possible to tell it to open to varying amounts using the remote or ignition or something. I can't remember exactly what to do but I think it is in the manual somewhere.

Discovering this was a side effect really, I was trying to sort why it would not shut and that was due to the really nifty sensors built into the rubber seal. I do not think that will be your problem but maybe the setting for opening angle has been altered accidentally.

Thank you - just checked all the settings and still not working. Think this is a dealer job...

Did you find the bit on how to adjust the height?

If you cannot find it I can ask the guy who owns hte car what we did. If you did find it there is no point me doing that and I don't see him often so let me know if you want me to ask him.

That is assuming no one else pipes up with the method.
