Head gasket failure?

Looking at buying a 2020 RAV4 but looking for some advice on whether this is a possible head gasket failure or is it because of the cold weather…

Hi Adam, This looks like the white stuff under the oil cap is due to condensation or moisture accumulating inside the engine. It is more likely to occur in colder climates or during short trips where the engine doesn’t reach its full operating temperature, allowing water vapour to condense and mix with the oil.

I think it is highly unlikely given the age of the Rav4 to be a head gasket failure. Ensure you check out the service history etc.
