Merry Christmas all

The high interest is a game changer indeed. When I ordered mine 22REG 1.8 TS icon tech, I had a great deal with £3.5ish k discount from Carwaw, £1k deposit contribution from Toyota and 0% interest. It was a deal I couldn't resis - 2k deposit, £273 monthly PCP for 41 months and £10.2k at the end. The cheapest 2-3 yars old same spec Corolla at a time was around £18k with 70k miles on the clock, add at least 5-6% interest from the bank or car lease.

I have always been against buying brand new vehicles, cos at the moment you take it from the dealer you've already lost 20ish% of its value. I also love to service and generally take care of my cars on my own. With a brand new vehicle I cannot touch anything-kinda boring, but again I couldn't resist the deal above and this is my first brand new vehicle ever

ps...sometimes I regret I didn't go for the 2L, but this always changes when I go to the petrol station.  - I am currently 35k miles. No issues so far.

I do recommend the 1.8 2023 - haven't driven one myself, but after reading all updates it should be powerful enough- that's the biggest difference between both 1.8 and 2L, right. Also the 1.8 engine is having an extremely good reliability reputation- its been out for years and if we exclude the odd oil usage and water pump issues for some older models Aurus and Prius, I think it's been absolutely trouble free. There are few injector issues reported with the 2L - long term the 2L seems like more expensive to maintain being more complicated then both. Don't have any  experience with the 2L of course- only my personal opinion
