The 12-volt Battery of my Corolla Hybrid Hatch is low after weeks of staying in the garage. Before trying jump starting it with another vehicle, can I just recharge the 12-volt Battery via the jump start connection points mentioned in the manual? Like positive terminal of the charger to positive terminal of the Battery, and negative terminal of the charger to "solid, stationary, unpainted metallic point away from the battery"?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

yes you can do that. Make sure the car is off and before you attempt to start all charging cables are disconnected and removed from the charging point .

I also have a 2ltr car.

When you use the jump point in the fuse box to charge the Battery, what do you connect the earth lead to. Does it have to be a point on the bodywork or any part of the engine?

Any (unpainted) metal, usually a part on the engine is easiest to connect to but an unpainted bolt on the bodywork will work. After connecting, make sure the charger is showing it's charging, if not try another part on the engine.

I use a bolt (unpainted) on the suspension strut behind the fuse box
