It's not one of these is it...?

Have one of those on the Yaris on a Roof Rack, it's handy for the brake light merchants who sit dazzling me in the queue to McDonald's car park on Sundays for the meet.

I just drilled a 18 mm hole to run the 10 amp cable through, with a neoprene grommet to prevent chafing.

(Local hero, take no notice, I'm only joking, put up a pic when you get it done please)

It’s a shame these damned things can’t be rendered unusable or illegal to use while the car is in motion on the highway. Too many idiots near where I live who have them on their tarted up jacked up old Disco’s and use them ‘inappropriately’.

I think most of them are illegal to use on the road and are actually  sold under the banner of worklights, mine are in 2 parts the two outside sections are foglights and the two inner sections are spot lights they are road legal! But tbh I had a  mk1 rav with 4 cibies on the front I never used those either!!

Yeah, most are only allowed in off-road/private road situations, but a significant number of them are E-marked, which means they are, in fact, road legal!

To be fair, there have been some pitch black deserted country roads I've been down that even my Mk4's already insanely bright LEDs could have been usefully supplemented by a collapsed sun for some sections of it!    (There was one I couldn't even tell how fast I was going because it was so featureless, and the Mk4's LEDs have much less side-spread than normal halogens so you have a much narrower vision cone - Because they are so bright you literally can't see anything outside what they're shining on! In hindsight I should have turned on the fogs too - I used them for the first time in actual fog a few weeks ago and discovered they have a much wider side spread than the main beams!)

They are all done and wired now and neat little toggle switch fitted, but they really make headlamps look decidedly dull, does anyone have recommendations  for dip and main bulb replacements please (Rav4 mk 4 2013) 😊 Stew

So if I see a blinding bat-signal-like light shining into the clouds from a Wales-ish direction I'll know it's you 'eh?
