Changing interior lighting

Hi,

I’m thinking of updating the interior lights on my Corolla to white LED as I very much dislike the orange glow of the old style lights.

Does anyone have experience of doing this and any advice?

I have found this kit with all the bulbs included, any thoughts on this? https://www.ledperf.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=39721{6e1220a8dbf45b3bde1abe3f8689518f}

Did that on my mk2 prius

Halfords stock a whole range of LED “white light” replacement bulbs in all sizes.

Is there any guide to sizes of bulbs

I'd stick to replacements from decent brands, Philips, Osram etc, rather than the no-name products where the reliability and design can be more of a gamble.

Have been in store today and there is no guidance on sizes suitable. The screens and online both show no bulbs for my car so that's not helpful. Have not found anything which says what the bulbs are that I need for the map lights, Vanity and dome lights?

Pop the covers and look for yourself. Probably torpedo type or standard push fit.
my Halfords has a roladex with the in bulbs in it for interior and exterior types.

An update on changing my interior lights.

All have been changed to LED, the Map lights, two vanity and rear dome light. With having a pan roof, the map lights are slightly different to the videos shown online, one clip required a tiny flat head to detach the cover from the clip and the rest came out with a bit of a plastic trim tool spatula type thing and gently pulling. The 'H' piece that is for the SOS lights on my car was two single straight pieces of plastic so that's to be watched out for. I can't specify if this is pan roof only or whether they all have the single plastic pieces now. The vanity light clips were not ideal, they did suffer slight pain as I just could not get the clip over the headlining. However I have replacements and can swap them out no problem, double sided sticky pad is working a treat for them in due course.

bulbs used were;

4 x Philips T10 Cool White: Philips Ultinon Pro6000 LED T10 car signaling bulb (W5W), 4.000K warm white : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive

1 x Orsam Festoon 31mm: Osram LEDriving® SL, ≜ C5W (31 mm), White 6000K, LED signal lamp, Off-road only, non ECE, Single Blister (1 lamp) : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive

One note I would make is that you would probably get away with having the 30mm Festoon as the 31 is quite tight as its significantly more chunky compared to the original bulb.

I would make one very important point.

Consult your OH.  The first bulb I changed was pax vanity bulb.  She preferred yellow so I had to change it back.

I do prefer the standard halogen bulb light output too.
There is also a reason other than money cost why so many manufacturers still use these bulbs in interior and number plates, they provide better light than led in those applications.
