Dealership made good on Brake Fluid situation

Hi all, I intended to just post this to my other thread where I believe I got ripped off by a dealership lying about a brake fluid change and trying to fob me off over it. But it's locked (please no bickering on this one or it'll get locked).

I just wanted to share that the Site Manager for the franchise / dealership met with me today and discussed it all. Totally acknowledging my concerns, reviewing video / photos and agreeing that whilst he has to trust his employees, anything is possible and as he's not there he can't personally tell me it was 100% done. I thought that's all fair and valid.

He was interested in making things right so that I continued to come back to the business and be a customer long term, which I said given the experience I wasn't planning to do. However he offered to give a credit to the value of the job to be used on parts in the future and guaranteed the same level of service from the parts department (who in fairness are excellent and fairly priced).  I thought that was a good offer and accepted it.

He also wanted to take in the two samples (reservoir sample and bottle of fluid that came out of each brake line) so he can get it looked at himself (in one of the other franchise workshops) and tested. I think he also wants to see if there is any verifiable way from what I'm saying, that perhaps it wasn't done which if I were him, I'd want to know too so I dropped those off. He acknowledged and I also said how I reckon even the old stuff, if that's what it is, will still probably register as 'fine' by a tester. Hopefully and maybe they have another way to test it and potentially reveal some sort of proof but we are aware that even the 'old' stuff might still actually test 'good'.

Anyway, I was quick enough to share my dissatisfaction and problems. I thought it only right to conclude it with a positive outcome. I appreciate his time and offering to make it right. Definitely has my faith restored in that franchise. My lesson is to just do these jobs myself in the future as I have the means to do them.. but at least now I can still continue to get the genuine parts / fluids locally and maybe down the line, if they have any decent Toyota / Lexus models in, I'd now consider them again down the line.  Planning to share / close the case with Toyota and their senior management as well again to compliment on him doing the best he could and for taking my concern seriously.  Credit where credit is due.

Hope this is okay as the last thread was locked. Even if you want to lock this, or append it to the other thread if possible.  Thanks to all who gave their thoughts / views 🙂

I'd been following the other thread and noted we must be in or around the same part of the world. I'm a previous auris owner, now with toyota at present but will likely be moving back when I change so even more keen to hear jow you got on. Glad to hear you got it taken seriously and are pleased with the outcome!
