Can someone explain to me why Toyota in their wisdom decided to install two settings menus in my Corollas Excel  one on the display and one on the driver's dash ? Life today is complicated enough without this car makers generated puzzle 😮. If you are going to introduced smart technology into a car stick to one pathway , don't introduce 3 namely voice control and two separate configuration menus that aside I still like the 🙂car and more importantly so does "her indoors"😉

I assume that the steering wheel controls (dash screen settings) are so that you can make changes while driving. You can't drive safely while focusing on the multimedia screen.

The multimedia screen in the centre has its own settings for its own screens and features.

The instrument cluster screen changes settings relating only to its screens and functions.

I suppose it just depends how you look at it, if they merged them all into one,  chances are we'd have more confused owners trying to understand how they are supposed to know where each setting applies and would be demanding a split like we have now. Can't please them all!

You can't actually change anything other than the time on my Avensis instrument cluster screen when it's in motion. Sort of annoying as it'd be appreciated when I cross into the ROI where it's KMH speed. Instead.. I'm more focussed on rushing to do it when I'm in a traffic stop situation which I reckon is definitely more dangerous!!! haha  Toyota and its infinite wisdom.  Ironically, you can still browse through all the settings but they appear greyed out preventing any changes being made until it's stopped. So still a bit of a distracting minefield to get caught out by.
